Year 2000 Compliance: Pie Medical Ultrasound Systems

In no case will the millennium transition disrupt the operation of the  scanner nor deteriorate its diagnostic capabilities.

All currently manufactured Pie Medical systems with the software versions listed below will continue to function, unaffected by the Year 2000 transition:

  • Scanner 100 >1.1#1 (10/04/96)

  • Scanner 200 >2.0#2 (24/04/1996)

  • Scanner 240 >all versions

  • Scanner 250 >4.4#1 (31/07/7998)

  • Scanner 350 >all versions

  • Scanner 250+ >all versions

  • 240 Parus >all versions

  • 485 Anser >all versions

  • 260 Corvus >all versions

The Scanner 560 has no clock function and therefore the transition has no effect.

The following systems are affected by the transition. The problem can easily be corrected by the user (please refer to the following statements):

  • Scanner 400/450

  • Scanner 480

  • Scanner 150

  • Scanner 1120/1150

Millennium Compliance Statement:
485 Anser, Scanner 240, 240 Parus, Scanner 250+, 260 Corvus & Scanner 350

The software of the following models:

485 Anser, Scanner 240, 240 Parus, Scanner 250+, 260 Corvus and Scanner 350

employs a millennium independent date coding format. Extensive testing of the functionality of the scanner has not revealed problems related to the millennium transition.

The year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

Millennium Compliance Statement:
Scanner 100, Scanner 200 & Scanner 250

The software of the following models:

Scanner 100, as of release C1.1#11
Scanner
200, as of release C2.0#2
2
Scanner 250, as of release C4.4#1
3

is modified to employ a millennium independent date coding format. Extensive testing of the functionality of the scanner has not revealed problems related to the millennium transition.

The year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

Millennium Compliance Statement:
Scanner 100, Scanner 200 & Scanner 250

Note 1. Software level <=1.1#1 [Upgrade available].
Note 2. Software level <=2.0#2 [Upgrade available].
Note 3. Software level <=4.4#1 [Upgrade available].
Incorrect EDD/LMP calculation around the millennium transition. These values show obvious mistakes for which user misinterpretation is considered to be highly unlikely. To avoid misinterpretation the EDD/LMP function can be deselected.

Millennium Compliance Statement: Scanner 480

The software of the Scanners 480, as of release C5.2#14,is modified to employ a millennium independent date coding format. Extensive testing of the functionality of the scanner has not revealed problems related to the millennium transition.

The year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

Millennium Compliance Statement: Scanner 480

Note 4. Software level <=5.2#1

Scanners 480 that incorporate earlier software versions will

  • show an incorrect date after the millennium transition (01/01/01). After correction, by setting the proper date, the date function will work properly.

  • EDD/LMP calculations are incorrect around the millennium transition. These values show obvious mistakes for which misinterpretation is considered to be impossible5.

Millennium Compliance Statement: Scanner 150

An extensive testing program has been conducted on the Scanner 150, to identify potential failures, flaws or errors related to the millennium transition.

The following results have been obtained:

  • The correct date is indicated after the millennium transition.

  • Year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

  • EDD/LMP calculations are incorrect around the millennium transition. These values show obvious mistakes for which misinterpretation is considered to be impossible5

Millennium Statement: Scanner 1120/1150

In order to identify potential failures, flaws or errors related to the millennium transition, a dedicated test program has been conducted.

The following results have been obtained:

  • The date value jumps to 01/01/01 after the millennium transition. After setting the correct date, the date will work properly.

  • Year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

  • EDD/LMP calculations are incorrect around the millennium transition. These values show obvious mistakes for which misinterpretation is considered to be impossible5

Millennium Statement: Scanner 400/450

An extensive testing program has been conducted on the Scanner 400/450, to identify potential failures, flaws or errors related to the millennium transition.

The following results have been obtained:

  • The date value jumps to 99Jan01 after the millennium transition. After setting the correct date, the date function will work properly.

  • Year 2000 is, correctly, treated as a leap year.

  • EDD/LMP calculation will not be affected at or around the millennium transition.

Millennium Compliance Statement: Scanner 480, Scanner 150, Scanner 1120/1150

Note 5.

To avoid misinterpretation the EDD/LMP function can be deselected.
